A HISTORY

OF PROTECTION

Along the coastal areas of Myanmar, natural disasters from cyclones to floods devastate the homes and lives of rural villages that have so little, and so much to loose.  This is the story of the mighty Mangroves and their power to act as  a levee and protector for the community.

Mangroves protect what the people have, save lives, can sequester four times more carbon than the rainforest, and creates a thriving ecosystem for wildlife in the Ocean and on land.

The roots of the mangroves hold all the power of this magnificent species! The forest at high tide and low tide help demonstrate the diversity and strength of this extraordinary tree.

ABOUT MAYWIN

  • Five years ago my family and I visited the Thor Heyerdahl Climate Park in Myanmar where we worked with Worldview International Foundation to plant 3.2 million Mangrove trees.

I was 10 years old at the time, working with my family, my organization Y4c, my mentor Nano Afrane and kids from around the world.

Since then it has become my mission to educate people about the importance of Mangrove restoration and conservation.

The sales of the project will go towards expanding the planting of Mangroves in critically threatened area.
